7 years ago today Robert James Zumbrunnen (SI Bob) passed away at the age of 58. He was a great guy and a tough but fair moderator (I know - he suspended me many times - it was a spirited posting thing). At the time, the internet was simply a source for news and information at blistering speeds of 14.4k but Silicon Investor changed that! Suddenly we could chat with people from different parts of the country and all walks of life. Over time, relationships were created with people that we'd have otherwise never known. Feelings of like, love and loathe were quite common but in the end, loss was inevitable and...universal. Simply put, Silicon Investor and SI Bob brought a sense of community to the internet at a time when there was no social media. For that I'm eternally grateful as are many others. Bob was an avid RUSH fan so tonight, in honor of Bob, toss back a Guinness (or Gummy) and enjoy the easy listening of RUSH 2112. penwellgabelkc.com
