No, I can't recall us discussing skydiving when we met. Anyway, we jumped when it was solo jumping, which is more dangerous. These days you can only do tandem jumping. So, you're connected to an experienced diver. I would prefer solo but it seems many people can't follow simple instructions.
There is the risk of death, but that's what is appealing to me. I have always tried to face fear and overcome it. If I were to die jumping, I'd die happy, it's better than dying in my sleep, which terrifies me. The Missus doesn't understand. .. Ha! .. But, I'm a Marine, we face fear and overcome.
I might not qualify, I'm still looking into that. They say age isn't important, weight and health conditions are. I'm okay on weight, I need to know what the health conditions are.
It's not cheap either. The jump alone is $5K per person and we have to go to Memphis, TN. We also have to allow a few days staying there in the event of weather, so it's not a cheap experience. I'm cool with that!
I have to figure out the logistics, time frame, and see if it works within the other trips we have planned in the next year. Due to age, I can't drag me feet. |
