Jane,
Perhaps you bought all your shares at .25 but I doubt most people did, and please it seems silly to be excited by an "uptick" to .30? Especially on 216k shares, which in total is less than $60,000 and thats saying no shares were swapped by market makers. I thought I read you said you look for stocks with increasing volume and increasing price, and your a position trader so it seems silly to get excited about that. You seem more sophisticated than that.
I for one, bought most of my shares in the .30s as I am sure many other posters and lurkers have. Then again I was buying when I thought they had made .06 for the 1st half of the year, and at that point the company was talking about making an additional .06 for the 3Q alone. Silly me.
The price was in the low .30s a few short weeks ago. The price was in the mid .30s 2 months ago. So even if it "rockets" to .30 seems silly to get excited over this, especially on this anemic volume. This isnt really a post to you Jane, so please dont take it personally.. just making a general comment. I think not much can be made of price movements unless they come on real volume.. perhaps Im wrong..
Next week should be interesting either way. I still feel if people had faith in Ira, the company would be close to $1 today because they would take his .11 1997 EPS at face value. That is still a worry to me. For all of you who have done comparisons with other temp staffing companies.. can you name any similar company with the characteristics of .11 EPS and size of around $50M in revenue? Id like to see what the price is of that issue. Id have to discount FAMH because of the exchange it is on, but hoping someone who has looked up this info before could offer an example.
On another note, since I cant follow the stock on a minute by minute basis, does anyone have a log of todays action? I checked through the automated service from my broker and I "thought" that around 2ish or so only 90K shares were traded, then suddenly it shot to 180K shares very quickly. Just wondering if anyone can check if it was 2 or 3 sizable blocks that traded.
Thanks, Mark |
