Richard - You shouldn't count on DJ for the whole story. The story DJ quoted was written by Richard Wei, who I believe is a Lehman analyst in Taiwan.

Lehman's primary (NY) semiconductor analyst, Mike Gumport, has a 4 (avoid?) rating on Micron, and has been very cautious on Micron's near-term prospects. Excerpts from Gumport's 2/18 report:

"SINCE LAST FRIDAY, SELECTED CONFIGURATIONS OF 64 AND 16 MBits HAVE GRADUALLY DECLINED. The direction of DRAM pricing is critical to Micron (MU-$33 ; 4). Micron's recent stock price run-up reflected a mid-January rebound in DRAM pricing and the expectation of ongoing flat/higher pricing trends. Those expectations are now being disappointed. We continue to believe the best guess on short-term DRAM pricing is down."

However, Gumport has a more favorable view of Micron and DRAM prices long-term. Lehman reports can be found on the web: www.lehman.com
