It doesn’t matter how much aid enters Gaza if Hamas prevents it from being distributed. Reuters reports that 98 out of 109 trucks in an aid convoy were violently looted today.

Last night, during my Uber ride, a conversation with the driver took an unexpected turn. He told me he’s Lebanese. I told him I’m Israeli. What followed was a story that shook me.

He shared that he was a human rights lawyer in Lebanon, targeted by Hezbollah—not once, but twice—barely escaping with his life. Forced to flee, he found refuge in America, leaving behind everything he knew.

Then he said something that stayed with me: “Every day, when I hear the news of Hezbollah fighters being eliminated, I feel hope. Israel must keep going until Lebanon is free from their grip. They cannot stop!” His words were powerful—heartbreaking yet inspiring.

The people of the Middle East—Lebanese, Israelis, Palestinians, Iranians, and beyond—don’t want war. We don’t want terror. We want freedom. We want rights. We want democracy. This isn’t just a dream. It’s a shared vision, and it’s one worth fighting for.

We hear this kind of story a lot from Lebanese people and many who escaped the PLO and Hezbollah. Same comes out of Iraq and Syria. The Middle East is sick of the Islamic republic of Iran and other Islamist occupations and their constant terror.

I recently had a similar experience while searching for an auto body shop. I decided to visit a local shop based on a recommendation I found on Facebook. While chatting with the owner, he asked about my background. When I told him my story, he lit up and shared that he was Lebanese. He was so excited to meet me that he gave me a big hug. It was a truly memorable moment—one I will never forget.

The pizza shop I go to get our once a month extra large pizza for family pizza night is owned by a Lebanese. When learning I was Jewish, he said to me, "I hope your brothers in Israel will finish the fucking job in Lebanon. These Hezbollah bastards are fucking my country."
