I once know a man who was a tout. He would go to the race track and approach many people giving them each a sure winner in the horse race. All he ever asked for was that you make a bet for him. He appeared so sure that the horse would come in. He claimed he had inside information, and if you could afford it, if he shared the horses name with you, he would ask you to place a $2 or $4 bet for him. If you agreed he would give you the winners name and ask that you meet him by the cashiers cage at the end of the race so you could pay him his winnings. He would do this with a different person for every horse in the race. Every day he had a winner for every race and never risked $1 of his own money. He became so popular with those that had won, that they told their friends, and soon he was in the business of selling tip sheets. And I might add he did quite well with it.

Sorry for side tracking!
