After that lady + bike was run over in AZ I've thought the best strategy for the person(s) in charge of regulating self-driving safety as well as the top execs at the auto manufactures would be to strap them in their cars and be placed on a test drive where various surprises that happen on roads will befall them! I wonder how many of them would like that challenge! Think of things like a fallen tree trunk at windshield height across a road during an intense downpour. I can think of lots of interesting things I've stumbled on in my driving career, but I'm still here today.
