That was pretty wild. At one point over 150k BCers were without power, down to about 100k now. Several major highways on Vancouver Island are still closed due to downed trees, and many ferries are still being cancelled due to residual winds. As well, I hear that over half a million in Washington state are currently without power.

One of the contributing factors that has doomed so many trees is the that droughts of the past few years have weakened their bramch and root structures.
