I've got one patient who developed trouble breathing after a second vax dose. His symptoms have persisted but are controlled with asthma meds, which he never needed before. Never really been able to figure out why. Vaccines are not harmless, but the risk benefit calculation is what should decide whether we recommend or require certain vaccines. If you join the military they give several vaccines that are not normally used by the public (meningococcal for example). Vaccines can harm people, which is why post vaccine surveillance is critical. For COVID, several billion doses of several types of vaccines have been administered, and so far we have not seen any consistent pattern of harm, though individuals can always react in a one off manner. Biology is never an exact science. My current rec on boosters to my patients is that it is really up to them. If they have significant underlying pulmonary or cardiac disease, or are elderly I do recommend the boosters.
