I have lived in Victoria or Vancouver for more than 60 years. For that entire period I have been a keen weather observer and have spent much time on sailboats. So yes I know the history.

But of course anecdotal evidence is inherently unreliable, and a single instance like the one you cite does nothing to diminish my statement.

I didn't say there hadn't been extreme storms in the past hitting this area, I said there are more today. I based this statement on comments I heard yesterday from a professional meteorologist who has worked in this area for half a century. He has done statistical analysis that shows extreme weather of all types has become more frequent. Alas, it was a radio interview so I can't give a reference, but the evidence is there if you want to see it.

It is easy to tell that the ideological cage in which you confine yourself is crumbling by the way you are becoming increasingly crude and insulting while we remain calm.
