Status matters to most people to some degree. Most people in Congress are definitely a legend in their own minds. I think the turtle was intimidated by people who really were what he pretended to be because he then had to out himself.

Persona;;y, I agree with the concept of term limits, but the people who own these people will just buy another trained monkey. They are easy to replace. Term limits treat a symptom and not the root cause/ You have to take a lot of the spending out of the system, you have to address how elections are funded and you to address unelected entrenched bureaucrats who really pull the strings.

The intent of the Founders has been thwarted as Congress self-neutered themselves (Chevron may reverse that) and you also have a lot of the Judiciary that makes law.
