Putin has no real allies except for himself.
Try Iran, North Korea, China, India (maybe), Hungary, and Africa.
Russia does very little trade with Iran
Iran is a major arms supplier to RuZZia. Shahed drones are shipped to RuZZia by the thousands. RuZZia relies upon these Shahed drone swarms in order to overwhelm Ukraine's air defenses.
I think you are overestimating the ties between Russia and Iran and how far Putin would go to protect Iran at its own expense.
PooTin needs Iran in order to wage his glorious, romantic war against the West.

PooTin would absolutely HATE it if the U.S. assisted Israel in "regime change" in Iran. He doesn't want Iran following in the same footsteps as Libya.

It's even worse for PooTin if Iran becomes "democratized." Not only will PooTin have failed to prevent Ukraine from joining the free world, he will have also failed to keep Iran from joining the free world as well.
