No, not at all. Actually this time their stand on DMT vs CAP issue was 'politically correct' mostly because of the timing (day after ALA's win of the RFP). They basically said "right now we are using CAP only in our trials but we MAY look at DMT at some point if that makes sense". They defended their stand on CAP with the points you recently read in the trade rags: DMT chips aren't commercially available, power utilization etc.

At Oppenheimer, Nynex was told "why wait for the $35-50 price points when folks have to pay a lot higher than that for ISDN service today (NYNEX charges .01 a minute on top of the monthly fix rate). Don't you think many will be more than glad to pay even over $100 for unlimited ADSL access". This week Nynex stated (without being told or asked) that they were seriously looking at deploying ADSL at the higher price points initially. I give them credit for that. They are open to new ideas and that's real good for an RBOC. Techie
