I'm still holding a smallish position in mackie, at a considerable loss, pinning my hopes on them getting the Digital 8-bus mixer to market someday. It's a shame they haven't made it out yet; it's the most-talked-about small digital console other than the yamaha 02R/03D stuff, but a couple of other people are poised to crush mackie like a bug in that arena -- tascam is starting to agressively market a similar product, and I saw one other that I can't remember offhand.

Having said that, I'm surprised (and annoyed) that the stock price hasn't done better with the sales of the amplifier, monitor speakers, positive mentions abounding in both the audio & business-world press, etc.

I have to second your opinion re: "inability to stick to its promises" -- it seems chronic, and they really need to stop announcing products that aren't even close to shipping. It concerns me that the company's advertising for digital DSP engineers in trade mags...it makes me wonder if that means the 8-bus is still just a sketch on a napkin somewhere (yes, I saw an 8-bus at a trade show, but I only saw one of them).
