I'm confused too. How is "Refill" defined ? I would expect that most of the prescriptions sold are for repeat customers and are "refills". If VVUS has revenues of $30M / quarter or $10M/m, and each prescription cost $100 (I am using approx. numbers so I can do the math in my head) then I would expect 100,000 prescriptions/m total (New + Refill). This would be approx. 23,000/week.
Also if each prescription has six pellets, I would expect that the average repeat customer would need one refill per month which means that there must be about 100,000 repeat customers. If there are 10,324 New prescriptions/week and 47% become steady ( or 4853), then the number of steady customers and the number of refills should increase by 4.853%/week. This would mean more than a 10 Fold increase in sales per year. This can't be right !!
Help !!
