In a local Sam's club...they installed gateways under a high arch...I can see sensor or something on each side and a camera up above.....it used to be using the scan tool to check out, a person at the door would scan 2 or 3 items..even on carts loaded to the top... now, I walk thru that arch and they wave me thru...without additional scanning..I've asked and they don't know how it works, but guy did show me a picture taken from above...but I don't know how the system knows if you paid... same with a loaded cart that came thru after me.
