Jay--I was thinking that the potential buyers might be Bay networks or Sun Microsystems before. Someone also mentioned IBM. That happened several months ago. The news you posted will definitely good for lifting the stock prices of CHKPF. IBM stock is priced over $100 now. There will be no doubt to receive at least half a share of IBM from ours each CHKPF share. We might get much more than that if the deal came true. However, I won't treat this rumor seriously until other analysts from those big firms say something. The acquisition of WheelGroup by Cisco may make other networking company to consider to have some similar acquisitions. That's why some small network security companies, such as CYBG, TISX and SCUR, went up after the news. BTW, I found the original paper you posted at news.com. Thanks.
