I am a little concerned about the PLC distribution agreement, and would appreciate hearing your view.

When I first saw news of the agreement, I went to the PLC SI site. The graph looks dreadful. Precipitous drop several months ago followed by a slowly declining pattern and some recent life on the upside - but little life upon the news of the agreement. I became suspicious. Reading the comments on the thread I found that its competitors are quick on PLC's heels, and furthermore the product may be limited to certain cardiovascular conditions. Questions are also raised as to its safety! Other products, including one by Boston Scientific, are targeting the same cardiovascular market.

The TMR product is up for FDA panel review April 24, 1998. Approval will certainly help me feel better about the alliance, but the competitive landscape is still a big question mark.

It would be comforting to know that CHDX compared technologies used in revascularization and chose the best (or best availabe for representation) technology and product within that technology class.

Meanwhile, we are due to receive the data for this quarter. It should be out shortly. Looking at other quarters it is already late. But looking at last fiscal year they were a month late. However, my colleague, a professor of finance, tells me that late news is often bad news.

I continue to be very optimistic about CHDX. But have refrained from adding to my position as I am already overextended in this stock.
