rottentomatoes.com Pegasus software should be no surprise to most readers here but maybe this is the first mainstream documentary I'm aware of that discusses it. This was from several years ago and his name escapes me but Joe Rogan had a personal security expert on his podcast that mentioned Pegasus. In the original iteration, the target had to actively click on a text or something incoming to the phone. Now with the latest version, THEN, they only needed the cellphone number and could insert spyware. The interesting aspect to me is this silent insertion technique also bypasses any encrypted apps used on said phone. And this is a private company. Imagine the latest tricks the NSA has cooked up after their old bag of tricks was exposed in a hack a few years ago!
