I've been able to use a walker since 2 hrs after the operation. I am just going by what the therapists have planned so far. They'll put me through exercises to strengthen the muscles to assess balance needed for walking unassisted. I mostly stopped tylenol the first day. Pain in both legs, including the non-operated hip, is gone.. I will be functional per the therapist and it's up to to the patient to continue exercises to achieve their goals. For perspective, the surgeon said that I was the easiest of the four operations he had that day.
