As I was told a few months ago, probably best to wait. I don't think either fwd/trailing earnings are a good measure of value here. I think the balance sheet may be the best place to go, but you'd have to go over a long time period to work out the current situation AND it'll be tough to work out today's value (how much inventory do you write down? what portion of receivables won't be collected?...).

Can't remember exactly who it was that said it, but the best time to buy the autos is when they're on the brink of death's door (or something to that extent!).
