I do follow RtS data daily for NYSE and Nasdaq, and am surprised by how common it is (Dec>Adv) on up days, and the opposite as well. Data does not track S&P, and I have not tried to correlate consecutive days....but it is quite common. Always assumed it was sector/market rotation (which can also occur at "tops"). Note, for today, NYSE had that negative bias, but Nasdaq was decently positive Adv>Dec.....on generally average volume. I do think this is something to pay attention to, just have not dug into details yet <sigh>.
