Can't say I agree. A strong web presence will increase
the visibility of Macromedia, is a showcase of their products
internet abilities (incidentally something the analysts NEED
to see) and might eventually even generate plenty of
advertising revenue. On top of that I'm not sure if the
costs for maintaing their site are all that much higher than
those for just maintaining their macromedia.com site.
So, I don't believe management is sidetracked by trying
to become an excite/lycos/etc. competitor. Their site
makes business sense.

I'm pretty sure some analysts are just waiting to upgrade
MACR. BTAB for one. They'll be accumulating before they do.
If/when that happens you'll see a pretty serious runup.
I wanted to buy more at 8 but waited too long.
If it dips down there once again, I'll add. I believe
that MACR has unique products, a good balance sheet (with
plenty of cash to purchase technology if necessary) and
perhaps above all, no direct MSFT competition.

All the ingredients for a successful software company, I'd say.
