two days after hearing from a friend in Miami about getting hit with a large assessment , I saw a piece on cnbc talking about the condo cliff in south florida requiring condo buildings over 30 years old to be inspected and for repair to be made right away, this is causing large assessment to be levied and some owners on fixed incomes are just walking away if they cant sell it. I expect Starwood to benefit from this turmoil as they are a distressed and opportunistic investor and lender and they also have a large workout dept and are based in florida. I think the annual distribution is around 9.5% at the moment. I continue to be very long .
