The little ice age was everywhere. Including in New Zealand, very far from the north of the northern hemisphere.

You have no idea when reglaciation is due, other than from now on, as we all can see from the ice age cycles. The 10,000 year interglacial is now on borrowed time. Whether we've managed to hold it off with the extra CO2 remains to be seen. The CO2 we've produced is going to be gone in a few decades. We need to keep production up to maintain warmth, assuming the CO2 is actually doing a bit of insulation.

A bit more rain is fine. If it gets too rainy, as at the west coast of NZ South island, one can move elsewhere. They get a crazy amount of rain there. About 2.5 to 3 metres per year Far too much for my liking. I prefer hot, dry, sunny conditions. Not the Sahara. More like South of France ... In summer.

Hawaii is great for climate. No winter.
