Informative Y2K Article in Barron's Feb. 23rd Edition

Monday's Barron's makes a distinction between Y2K stocks which are outperforming versus underperforming within the overall Y2K sector. As many of us know the Y2K body shops have been the stock market winners lately. Barron's stated that at the present time most companies would prefer to outsource their Y2K conversion code requirements rather than fixing the problem in-house. This frees up their in-house IT professionals to perform other needed tasks.

After reviewing IAIC's latest three contract announcements this week, it sure looks to me that IAIC's Y2K conversion factory in Fairfax, VA has been successful in obtaining outsourcing work, witness:

Feb. 17: IAIC to remediate 1 million COBOL LOC's in IAIC's Fairfax conversion factory for Bureau of National Affairs.

Feb. 18: IAIC obtains subcontract from CDSI to remediate 2.4 million UNISYS COBOL LOC's in IAIC's conversion factory in Fairfax for US Navy's Defense Industrial Financial Management and Naval Air Command Industrial Materiel Management Systems.

Feb. 19: IAIC together with CACI International to remediate 1.2 million CA-ADS and CA-IDMS COBOL LOC's in IAIC's conversion factory in
Fairfax for Naval Ordinance Center.

AFAIK, IAIC's UNICAST/2000 is in use in 24 conversion factories which fits nicely with the trend at the current time for companies and government agencies utilizing outsourcing for Y2K. As time and labor constraints accelerate as the year moves on, the ability to use UNICAST/2000 in-house will be a viable alternative for those entities having no other choices.

Tick, tick, tick ...!

Regards.
