My iPhone is personal, and I don't keep it somewhere that others feel entitled to touch its screen. It has an oleophobic coating, and seems to self-clean going in and out of my pocket. Only I touch it, so it's not subject to randos with questionable hygiene smearing stuff on it.

I don't use an iPad, but if I did, I'd probably have a keyboard/trackpad for it, and feel the same way about others touching the screen.

Touchscreens, in my opinion, are engineered specifically for nose-pickers and butt-crack scratchers.
