Some lead acid batteries and a diesel with converted cooking oil would of been an option.

There some safer options then a used Nissen Leaf battery pack.

Just shows how group acceptance & thinking can potentially lead one astray.

Nobody is sure what exactly happened though. It could have been a collision with something like a half sunken container or similar
