Tenchu's Thoughts - Evan Gershkovich is a Hero, Not Moscow Qarlson

This is amazing. Evan Gershkovich, a man who was kidnapped and held for ransom by the RuZZian mafia state until dArK bRaNdOn freed him, never stopped being a journalist, even while suffering in a literal gulag:

Wall Street Journal's Evan Gershkovich reveals shadowy Kremlin figure behind imprisonment in Russia (FOXNews)

Tracking Putin’s Most Feared Secret Agency—From Inside a Russian Prison and Beyond (WSJ, paywalled)
"When I was arrested by Russia’s security forces in 2023 — the first foreign correspondent charged with espionage since the Cold War — I never stopped reporting," Gershkovich wrote in a story that included collaboration from several other Journal reporters. "On my release I set out to identify the man who had taken me, and to learn more about the spy unit that had carried out his orders."
Thanks to the WSJ, the unit that was responsible for the kidnappings has been named. It is called the "Department for Counterintelligence Operations," or DKRO, and it is headed by a man named Lt. Gen. Dmitry Minaev.

Of course, just knowing the name of the unit and its leader might not matter to us average citizens, but from a journalistic perspective, this is HUGE. Although the WSJ already named the unit last year, it remained cloaked under an incredible level of secrecy. It didn't even have a Wikipedia page until recently.

This is the sunlight that disinfects government from the ravages of corruption.

This is the sunlight that will shine a very painful spotlight on PooTin's super-secret force that is turning RuZZia into a North Korean-like totalitarianism.

This is the kind of journalism that wins Pulitzer Prizes.

Not the kiss-ass shit that Moscow Qarlson is doing even right now:

Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s interview to Tucker Carlson, Moscow, December 6, 2024 (Official RuZZian Government web site)

Qarlson, of course, is driven by his viewership on Xitter. They have a vested interest in making the RuZZian state look more "humanitarian" and "righteous." They want to continue justifying PooTin's three day war of choice as a "regional conflict" of "existential self-defense."

It's complete and utter Bullshishka, but Qarlson is more than happy to hold a microphone to pathological liars who have absolutely no moral compass whatsoever.

THAT'S "journalism"? THAT'S what is considered "stunning and brave" according to his followers?

Nah, I'll take the work of Evan Gershkovich over Moscow Qarlson any day of the week.
