Lucent has developed technology to allow an even greater capacity gain in existing fiber. WCOM may be checking out LUs technology before going forward. I do not believe so. LU does not plan to ship any of this new product until the 4th quarter. Therefore, it is vaporware at present. Deadlines are typically missed in the tech sector. Secondly, the new product by LU will need to be beta tested for close to a year prior to being implimented in large scale. This gives CIEN a 12 month technological lead on LU. Glenn
