This type of flooding when a storm coincides with high tides has become more and more common around these parts as the sea level continues to rise.

I'm dreaming of a wet Christmas...

Or at least I should be. The forecast for the the next 10 days in southern BC shows above average temperatures, and every day's forecast is either 'Rain' or 'Periods of rain'. Needless to say, the local ski hills are not happy. I don't know if you are a skier, but I can personally testify from my younger days that skiing in the rain is not a lot of fun.
