Reading BAT's hopeful press release about importing gliders
from the R.O.C. and equipping them with batteries manufactured
by Acme Electric Corporation certainly ties in directly with
yesterday's article in USA Today, and I thank you for drawing
my attention to it. This explains the acrimonious remarks made by
ACE's CEO. I am inclined to regard the past as prologue, yet I
am reminded of the two Irishmen drinking stout in a pub, while
watching a John Wayne movie. Paddy said to Mick, "John
Wayne is about to fall off that horse." Mick said, "No, he
won't." Paddy replied, "Well, I'll wager five quid that he does."
Mick said, "You have a bet." In the next scene John Wayne
fell off his horse, and Mick sheepishly paid off the bet. Paddy said, "You know, Mick, I've seen this movie before."
And Mick replied, "I've seen the movie before, too, but I didn't
think he'd be dumb enough to do it again!"
