The problem with a family fortune of $40 billion bucks is that they may borrow let say just $20 Billion against these fortune. But if the fortunes were in Rupiah's and the debt in Dollars, by now they are paupers. Even if they borrowed only $10 billions in Dollars they are in a precarious situation, since who knows at what level the Rupiah will finally stabilize. The way they are trying to handle their problems, it could still be at 30,000 Rupiah/dollar.
