To be honest, that's not really the dynamic here.

This is not about Democrats vs Republicans. The Republican establishment is even more committed to supporting Ukraine than the Democrats. On the right, it's only the MAGA folks who oppose it.

America is not supporting Nazis because we are Nazis. We're not supporting Al Qaeda and ISIS in Syria because we are radical Islamists. Our government didn't support radical anti-government militias on January 6 because our government is radically anti-government. At certain times, our government uses certain violent extremists useful as tools to achieve specific political goals.

Also, this is not at all a new phenomenon. We've been doing this all over the world since we became an empire after WWII. Most famously, in the 1980s Carter and Reagan created Al Qaeda to damage the Soviet Union.

So what are we? I'd say the Blob in charge of everything is globalist, center-left, Marxist lite, managerialists.
