Well, things are drawing to the end of the contest. After this only one more full-week report and then a quick final status, including the changes from New Year’s Eve trading on the following Monday.
Today is the winter solstice. The days should only get longer and brighter for the next six months, unless you live in the southern hemisphere.
It was a generally negative week, the only four portfolios in the black. It trimmed -$10.1k from the average portfolio, pushing the YTD average portfolio into a loss for the year (-$2.9k).
CRVS had a particularly bad week. Even after a month of steady losses, it was still the top performing stock YTD last week. But this week it dropped an additional -136% of its initial price, which pushed its YTD return to fourth place (+180%). A pretty good return, but not the stratospheric $400% return it had reached at one point this year.
It should be no surprise that the portfolio that had a 20% stake in CRVS would also show a pretty bad hit to their performance: ALONER lost -$64k for the week, so he dropped past TOMATO, BULBAMAN, and BLADERUNNER from the top to fourth place in the YTD rankings. So now TOMATO is in the top position (+$50k) with BULBAMAN in second with $15k separation. Otherwise the relative top YTD performances were unchanged, other than welcoming JR_95 to the best YTD performance list in eighth, -$8.9k, up from tenth.
