This puff piece should scare the $$$ out of any ARM licensee; it's crystal clear that (1) ARM aspires to make chips (a bit contradictory from the trial testimony), (2) ARM believes that all its licensees are actually creating IP for ARM (its position in the trial), (3) ARM will extort huge premiums from start-ups who cannot take the start-up tech to market by themselves and who try to go the traditional acquisition route (again, brought out at trial), and that (4) ARM is not a neutral arms supplier to the industry (it wishes to pick winners and losers).

The longer it takes for an ARM alternative to viable emerge, the longer the industry will be vulnerable to financial blackmail.

Also, Son is smoking some weird and powerful stuff - his own hubris. Son isn't shy about ARM'S plans; what will the ARM ecosystem do about it - will that ecosystem be slowly boiled to death, or will it react?
