MPH, Take up flying! Currently Trimble, Rockwell, Orbital Sciences (Magellan) and I think Sony, have auto products. Trimble leads I believe, but it has not taken off yet.
What makes the marine, aviation, camping/hiking markets compelling, is that the users, (customers) actually use the products to enhance their experience. I guess, if you got lost in your car, it would be enhancing to find your way, -g-, but one use (former) is to foster a better experience, and the latter, is more of a "safety valve", or fancy electronic map.
I think the auto market will increase, but so far, even in Japan where over 750,000 cars are equipped with GPS, the usage and popularity still wanes.
In any event, GPS market is still virtually an infant, and we should see continued growth with current "core" products, as well as new applications and products yet introduced.
