On Barons Article... It seems to me that the dumbest part of these two gentlemen's observations is the claim that the high growth rate of Ascend would attract "serious new competitors." Ascend isn't making fudge. Anyone who is "serious" and smart enough to do well in the field is probably already in it. I'd take their analysis more seriously if it was based on a careful consideration of the existing competition: Lucent, CSCO, COMS, for instance.
