Brian, Sorry to hear about your Corel losses. A lot of people have shared your experience.
Let me tell you how this works. An attorney starts a class action SUIT!!! and covers all the filing fees. If he wins, which seems likely in this case, then anyone who bought shares during a certain period can share in the proceeds. I don't know exactly what the period is, but it will be roughly the late spring through early fall of last year.
The bad news is that the proceeds will not be that large, so don't get your hopes up. It is not the attorney's fault, although, of course, they do expect to get paid, which some people resent for some strange reason. It is simply that the courts do not award very large damages in these cases.
So, as I have explained to others, the point of THE SUIT!!! is to bring justice and correct wrongdoing. The savings come in demonstrating to future managers who might consider shenanigans that it is not a good idea, and to dissuade them from doing that.
I believe Corel shareholders have contacted Milberg Weiss, a lawfirm in California that handles these kinds of cases, and I believe they are preparing a case, although I do not know. I have not contacted them, but I have heard from people who have. You can contact them, of course, but there is probably no need to, since I believe enough Corel shareholders already have.
Happy Investing!
