Hi Linda. You wrote:

I did not speak to her. I hope I did not give that impression. My analysis was based on reading the paragraph in which she referred to Zonagen. If you read my post #2428, I did refer to many items in her report that are inconsistent with what I do know.
First, is her repetition that clinical trials are going on at present. Zonagen has repeatedly stated that these are open label studies, not clinical trials. Second, is her reference to nausea and vomiting. The Phase II trials, conducted in Germany, did use the 60mg and 80mg doses and no such reactions occured. Detailed data was released from those trials. The number of men in those studies were not enough to statistically prove efficacy, but it did establish safety. If nausea and vomiting were side effects of Vasomax, there would have been an indication of it there. Similarly, there was no indication of these reactions in the Phase III studies. Third, she indicated that Zonagen was considering a new set of trials. I can't see how she would be able to get that kind of information. Zonagen has consistently stated that no new clinical trials are necessary. If they were, I have to believe Zonagen management would be extremely careful about who they mentioned this to before making the information public.
Much of Ms. Feldman's report, including her comments about Viagra, are based on rumor. She readily admits that in her comments, repeatedly using phrases such as: " rumors suggest," "our sources also indicate," "apparently," and "at this point we understand." She seems to be hedging everything she says and what she says makes little sense in the context of what we do know and remember, she does not follow Zonagen. My conclusion that she could have been fed disinformation is entirely plausible. Since Ms. Feldman has not, as far as I know, revealed her sources, I cannot prove what I suspect, but I think it is unfair to term it fantasy. Certainly, some of the wild statements made on this board prove that there are people capable of such things.

What has been released of the Phase III trials has shown statistical significance. No matter what details they release, there are going to be those people who refer to old, incomplete "data" as proof that phentolamine cannot treat ED. For more than a year, they have distorted facts, and confused the results of studies, attacking Phase III results by selectively referring to Phase II, or other "data." They refuse to accept the possibility that Zonagen was able to take an existing drug, reformulate it, and produce an effective treatment for some men. Perhaps some of the members of the medical community who are providing the shorts with ammunition, are jealous that they did not come up with this idea for using phentolamine to treat ED. Such a reaction would be typical of those whose talents are not so great as their egos.
I look forward, Linda, to the NDA filing. I am encouraged by the data that has been released, the participation of respected scientists in the development of this drug, the excellent reputation of PPD Pharmaco and the marketing agreement with Schering. I know there is still risk in this stock, but to me, that risk has lessened over time. I believe there is a far better than even chance that Vasomax will get FDA approval. If it does, I believe I will profit handsomely. |
