Well, let the Y2K suits begin.

Apparently if previous revs of your software were not Y2K compliant, and you release a new rev which is compliant, you can't sell it&#151you have to give it away. Or so says this lawyer:

&#147The defects concern the inability of the Norton AntiVirus software (prior to Version 4.0, which was introduced in September 1997) to recognize and process dates starting in the year 2000. In contrast to many other software companies, which are correcting "Year 2000" problems and providing those corrections free of charge to their customers, defendant Symantec is improperly requiring customers to pay fees to purchase upgrades from earlier versions to Version 4.0 in order to remedy the defect.&#148

This is great. I'll start digging through my old 5 1/4" floppy collection and find some suitable material&#133maybe some old Excel 2.0 disks or sumthin' like that. You really must love lawyers like Milberg Weiss&#151having done as much to advance civilization, as the Village People did to improve music.
