re <<vivek, reportedly from brahmin family, is probably quite aware that he's leading discussion toward social hierarchy/privilege. curious. especially due to u.s. common belief that caste systems are not-good. what do you think?>>
(1) I think
(1-a) the idea of snarfing up global talent is a brilliant element for strategic development, as long as talent true, and better, self-financing, and best local / domestic source running dry and requires top-up.
I do not know that USA domestic source is running dry, but
I do know that relative to China, USA perhaps can do with more STEM types, and
if such needed talent are available in India, then decisioning ought to be easy and arguments pointless
details are in legislation, and there be the rub in a governance system of one dollar one vote
(1-b) the back and forth between and amongst the different camps reminds me a bit of culture revolution or proto-civil war as I once saw in China circa 1964 - 1971, and I note if that is what is going on, a big 'if', then ungood, not only a great wasting of time, but worse, destructive
(1-c) take account the class, ethnicity and religion overlays, but believe difficult to run a race-based schism in the US, both too late and pointless
(1-d) economic fissures another matter altogether, but easily splinter-able into smaller sub-groups by natural wedgings
(1-e) the Trump did not create the fissures. The fissures were always there and just given expression by all
(1-f) There is still a 'silent' majority and ultimately they might still matter
(1-g) But before the silent majority becomes no longer silent, events can go quite pear-shape
... all guesses. Perhaps I am thinking too much, and out loud. You?
(2) I listen to all sorts of opinions, and believe my data input is okay as far as diversity goes, because I also listen to the quiet parts even if not out enunciated out loud by the speaker
