so at event today, Trump praised ex-Disney boss Ike Perlmutter:

The guy went from stone-cold broke to owning Disney,” Trump said of Perlmutter in front of his supporters at his private south Florida estate. “Then he got out of Disney because they went woke. He didn’t want woke Donald Duck, right?”

Yeah couple of things...

1. At no point at all did Perlmutter ever "own" or come close to owning Disney.

2. Perlmutter began at Marvel Studios and moved to Marvel CEO when Disney bought it in 2009.

3. Perlmutter refused to greenlight movies on Captain Marvel or Black Panther on the belief "no one wants to see women or black superheroes." Both movies made over a billion dollars with the latter also Oscar nominated.

4. Perlmutter wanted to fire Kevin Feigie, the guy behind the Marvel Cinematic Universe before Bob Iger stopped it.

5. Perlmutter didn't "leave" but was laid off in 2023 amid cost-cutting and sold all his Disney stock.

So no shock Trump loves him.
