This is exactly what I was talking about, Brumar:
Tenchu's Thoughts - Random Thoughts on H-1B Visas
The Muskperger is calling to attention the worst aspects of H-1B visa abuse. After laying off 15,000 people from Tesla, he has the audacity to ask for 2,000 H-1B visas.
Now it's unclear to me whether those replacement workers are working in the same areas that the laid-off people were working in. If Musk wanted to close down a manufacturing plant while at the same time hire additional programmers for his robotics division, obviously he can't simply move the factory workers over to a new role like this.
But here's the thing. The current annual limit on H-1B visas is 65K, plus 20K for those who earned master's degrees at American universities.
Musk, by being part of Trump's cabinet, will necessarily get to the head of line when it comes to H-1B visa requests.
Guys like me who work for small startups will just have to wait in line with all the other "commoners."
It's a CLEAR conflict-of-interest, but obviously neither Trump nor MAGA gives a shit.
Which is extremely hypocritical of them given how much they complained about conflicts of interest when it came to the Clintons, Obama, Brandon, and Brandon's coke-addled son.
(Oh yeah, and don't forget that Musk himself is an unapologetic drug abuser, so that "coke-addled son of a president" should be his moral doppleganger.)
