Tell us again why we don't educate enough scientists and engineers? For the longest time, education has been monopolized by the left. They cared more about DEI than about creating the strongest scientists and engineers., They didn't focus on educating the best of the best, but instead they focused on trying to help the rest catch up.
We saw the right-wing backlash, of course, but even right-wingers didn't do anything to improve education. Instead, they focused more on bringing back the Bible and school prayer into public schools than on STEM.
Even today, MAGA isn't focused on improving education, but instead trying to get more kids into trade schools. Cause you know, we need more plumbers, carpenters, and oil rig workers over AI engineers and research scientists.
Moreover, there's a sense among you MAGA types that higher education is "woke," plain and simple. For every engineer that Big Universities crank out, there are supposedly ten "gender studies" majors that are produced.
Hence there is no motivation by Trump to improve higher education. All he wants to do is milk the backlash against education for his own ego.
