IAU

Nevada gold miner i-80 Gold aka IAU released an update on their recapitalization plans for the company. They have reached an agreement with Orion to defer gold and silver Prepay deliveries as well as restructuring some convertible debentures, at a cost of issuing 5M warrants with a strike price 25% above market. IAu says they expect to complete the recapitalization by the end of this quarter, so those warrants should end up in the money before they expire and hence become an additional source of funding.

IAU also reminded us of the other side of their efforts to carry out a new development covering all five of their gold assets, completing five new PEAs in Q1, as well as a new Technical Report on Lone Tree including an updated Resource Report. In addition, an updated feasibility study for the refurbishment of the Lone Tree autoclave is expected in H2.

If they can pull all this off and the Pog behaves as Saville expects (see below), I expect IAU's share price to make substantial gains in 2025, but there is still plenty of risk at this point.

Saville comments that PMs and PM stocks remain in correction mode, and that this is the time to favour profitable producers over spec stocks, at least till the low is set in Q1 on the way to a multi-year high for the PoG in Q4.
