I thought I should clarify my post yesterday about how my idea about how pot, and alcohol, in moderation, can stimulate intellectual creativity was not just anecdotal, there is science behind it.

About 40 years ago-egad-I read Carl Sagan's book Brocca's Brain. It was a book written I think to put forth Sagan's general ideas other than astronomy.

Sagan was a pot smoker, and here is what he said about what he thinks happens when one smokes pot.

It has to do with the two hemispheres which are sort of separate brains.

The left brain is involved in sequential logic, and the right brain in the "juxtaposition of things". Robert Ornstein.

Sagan said the left brain rides rough shod over the right brain, but when one smokes pot, or drinks alcohol, that ties up the left brain and allows the right brain to function better.

I know I can't play poker if I have had either of those!

As a moderate pot smoker for 60 years, that rings true to me.

Happy New Year
