J.P. Morgan picks out top stocks for broader internet going into 2025 Dec. 18, 2024 11:56 AM ET By: Ahmed Farhath, SA News Editor cemagraphics Analysts at J.P. Morgan have come out with their favorite picks for small, medium, and large-cap stocks in the broader internet sector for 2025. Large-cap stocks The research firm has picked Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN), Meta (NASDAQ: META), Google (NASDAQ: GOOG) (NASDAQ: GOOGL), and Spotify (NYSE: SPOT) as its top picks for next year. They see AI continuing to dominate the investment narrative and expect AI-driven capex to increase for mega-caps as they overcome some of the compute constraints of 2024. They also noted that 2024 was the second straight year of "very strong performance" for mega-caps and large-caps in the Internet sector. Small- and medium-cap stocks Take-Two (NASDAQ: TTWO) and Xometry (NASDAQ: XMTR) were the research firm's top choices, but they also downgraded ratings for Angi (NASDAQ: ANGI), Match Group (NASDAQ: MTCH), Getty Images (NYSE: GETY), and Playstudios (NASDAQ: MYPS) going into next year. They noted that internet small-and-medium caps have underperformed mega/large caps for three straight years but are more optimistic on the group in 2025, driven by lower interest rates, higher domestic revenue mix, lower tariff exposure, and stronger capital markets activity, including a more active M&A environment.
