Why we Chinese Americans care so much about the J6ers? Because we’ve seen this before.

In 1989 students and activists launched a peaceful pro-democracy demonstration in Tiananmen Square demanding freedom and political reform. The CCP called the protest riot and insurrection, violently suppressed it killing thousands. It then arrested and jailed tens of thousands more.

It is terrifying for us to see history repeating itself and the emergence of political prisoners in America.

That’s why one can always find Chinese American patriots at the Freedom Corner outside the DC jail every night to show solidarity with our fellow citizens who are unjustly imprisoned.
