Sadly true. I was talking about the health care systems without the covid factor.

I was in hospital in 2020, and had a few minor ops before. Always first class treatment. The NHS worked near miracles on some of my relatives. Would have cost 10's of $millions$ in the USA. UK NHS just churned them out and sent them on their way. There was a bit of suffering and waiting, but not much of a problem if you are given a blank piece of paper for the bill at the end of it. No insurance companies to jigger things up.

I was in Hospital at the start of Covid when overcrowding was in all the news. The place was huge and almost empty. Most wards had the lights switched off.
